Happy Galentine’s Day Ladies!
Guys if you’re reading this, sorry. It’s all about the girls today. No need to join our party. We don’t want flowers or candy today. Today we want to hang with our besties and do girl things. Like drink Cosmos in our feetie pajamas and watch reruns of Sex and the City.
You’re on the hook tomorrow though.
February 13th, the best day of the year. Galentine’s Day! Created by the one and only Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation, played by the equally awesome and hysterically funny Amy Poehler. I ♥ that woman!
If you haven’t seen Parks and Rec, may I suggest you skip the Sex and the City reruns and binge watch P&R. Leslie Knope has got to be the bestest friend anyone could ask for. Just ask her BFF Ann, the “poetic and noble land mermaid”. I don’t know. It’s a Leslie thing.
She puts her friends first
“You know my code. Hoes before bros. Uteruses before duderuses. Ovaries before brovaries”
“You shut your mouth! You have all the strengths”
She has her priorities straight
“We need to remember what’s important in life: friends, waffles, work. Or waffles, friends, work. It doesn’t matter, but work is third.”
“I am big enough to admit that I am often inspired by myself”
She’s awesome right? Everyone needs a Leslie.
Oh, and if you’re not sure what to give your gal pals on this special day, Leslie has a few ideas that she shared on the show’s Galentine’s Day episode.
“If you look inside your bags you will find a few things. A bouquet of hand crocheted flower pens, a mosaic portrait of each of you made from the crushed bottles of your favorite diet soda and a personalized 5,000-word essay of why you are all so awesome.”
And if you are watching Sex and the City or just want to drink a Cosmo, here ya go. You’re welcome girlfriend!
