Where were you? We all remember like it was yester

Where were you? We all remember like it was yesterday. So many emotions. Fear, sadness, anger, love, hope, terror, desire to help and so many more. Even though it was eating at my soul, I couldn't tear myself away from the news, hoping that there would be some news that would put me at ease. My heart ached as I watched those images on the screen in disbelief that this was happening so close to home. The thought that they left from my city.
I wept, for a long time. Days it seemed. Tears would come without warning and I would be overcome with sadness that was almost unbearable.
I was 3 months pregnant with my first child and the thought of bringing a child into this world made me sick with guilt and regret.
My son is almost 20. I can't believe it's been 20 years. But I remember it like it was yesterday. I bet you do too.
